5. Push Pins
Yeah, push pins are always good to have in small work area. A push pin is what I consider a universal office supply that you find in most work areas.
Thanks to the fabric of the cubicle walls, you can always press them into the fabric to hold up paper or notes.
Office supplies like these are very versatile. You could even use them as cubicle picture hangers.
You’re probably not going to be able to hold many papers at one time because they probably won’t grab as well as they would in a cork board.
The Korky’s Push Pins shown above are not available any longer but these Yalis Push Pins are certainly comparable. They are really well made hangers and take push pins to another level! Any type of push pin is a nice addition to any office but they are great for the walls in particular.
You can purchase colorful models or generic white or black. The choices are endless.
Just recently I came across some really cool Geometric Wood Push Pins that are certainly unique and would be great for anyone who wants a truly unique office accessory.
4. Cubicle Wall Hooks, Cubicle Clips, Cubicle Wall Clips, Cubicle Picture Hangers, and Panel Wire Hooks
I lump cubicle hooks, panel wall clips, and panel wire hooks in together because they are essentially the same where two have an actual hook and the other is a clip.
Cubicle clips allow you to actually clip a paper or cardboard document from your cubicle wall. It may be a company slogan, product specs, or simply your weekly schedule.
I have all of these in my toolbox of office supplies and utilize these hangers throughout my office. I wrote this article about the usage of panel clips a while back.
What is great about panel wall clips is that you can use them as cubicle hangers for pictures or postcards or even important information related to your job. You could even use them as office cubicle hangers for nameplates. If you need to decorate an office with no windows, these clips and hooks will certainly do the trick, at least as far as the walls are concerned.
Cubicle hooks for pictures is another option as the hook portion could be used if there is a wire in the back of the picture frame or a keyhole into which the hook could be inserted. They may also be referred to as cubicle pin hooks or office hooks.
Some even spell them as cubical hooks but the word cubical refers to the shape of an office cubicle. According to GrammarBook.com they state the difference between the two words as the following: An office cubicle is cubical in shape.
I use a cubicle hook for hanging pictures, signs, or anything I need to hang in my cubicle as long as it isn’t too heavy. I specifically identify a cubicle wall hanger further down that is perfect for hanging a heavier item like a framed picture or a bulletin board.
All of them typically utilize stainless steel needles to grab into the walls as do many of the products that I have featured on this website including my popular cubicle shelf, pencil cup, note rail, cubicle utility bowl, cell phone holder, hanging cubicle wall shelf, etc.
3. Mounting Squares for Cubicles
Have you ever even heard of mounting squares? Well, I hadn’t up until a short time ago but I did pick up some Scotch Mounting Squares for Fabric Walls recently.
There are many different types of Scotch Mounting Squares which can be seen here. They are great for picture hanging or for hanging a light poster in an office as seen below.
The mounting squares for fabric walls have an adhesive side that affixes to the back of your picture or poster.
The other side is very similar to velcro and when you press it onto the fabric and slightly pull down as you do so, the velcro-like material grabs onto the wall.
Here I am hanging a poster with Scotch Mounting Squares, a unique cubicle wall hanger
This poster is fairly light. The maximum frame or poster weight recommended is 2 1/4 lbs which should satisfy most of your needs as far as posters, pictures, and frames are concerned.
As you can see above, I’m using the mounting squares as office cubicle hangers for pictures but it should be a fairly light picture, poster, or cubicle sign. You can use some of the other options in this article for hanging heavier items.

They require minor assembly but certainly are worth it for hanging a heavy item, signs, or even a hat or coat in an office. A cubicle board hanger is a versatile cubicle wall hanger.
The Balt Board Hangers are now called Best-Rite Cubicle Board Hangers. They are certainly heavy duty office hooks. It is definitely worth it to purchase a set of these hooks for cubicle walls if you have anything heavy you need to hang in your cubicle.
This Cork Bar shown here was detailed in this article and I use it to hang notes from to remind me of appointments, etc.
It is a really cool item that satisfies a much-needed function in a small office on my wall. I really had never even seen this item before but it seemed like the perfect addition to my small working area.

1. T-Pins
T-Pins! Yes, T-Pins are my #1 choice for hanging anything in a cubicle. Why? Well it’s for a number of reasons.
For one, they are unique hangers for cubicle walls in that they aren’t actually meant for hanging items within a cubicle but they work beautifully!
Also, they are cheap. If you buy a box they will last you probably your whole working career.

How do you hang a bulletin board in a cubicle?
There are many different methods or ways to hang a bulleting board in a cubicle. The main question is, “How heavy is the bulletin board?” If the bulletin board is fairly heavy, say more than 5 pounds, probably the best method is to utilize board hangers that hang over the cubicle walls and have hooks at the bottom.
One on each side should do the trick assuming there is some type of hardware on the back of the bulletin board to hook into.
If the bulletin board is fairly light you may be able to utilize mounting squares on each corner of the bulletin board. The mounting squares have an adhesive that attaches to the bulletin board but on the other side is a Velcro-like material that adheres to the fabric of a cubicle wall.
Can you use push pins on cubicle walls?
The quick answer is Yes and I’ve used them oftentimes to hold up postcards, to-do lists, company literature, or any paperwork that you want visible in your cubicle. I have even used a standard push pin to hang a framed picture that has a keyhole notch on the back of the frame. A standard push pin can also be used to stabilize a light poster on a cubicle wall.
Push pins can be a very reasonably-priced solution to hanging things on a cubicle wall. Do not underestimate their versatility. If you want to hang single pictures but don’t want to puncture the photo, cubicle wall clips would be a better option.
How do you attach something to a cubicle wall?
The list is endless but the main issue is, it depends on what you are trying to attach to the cubicle wall. Here’s a quick list of products you can use to attach things to a cubicle wall.
- T-pins which are typically used in the upholstery business are great for attaching items to a cubicle wall.
- Push Pins are a reasonably-priced option for hanging paperwork and oftentimes framed photos in a cubicle.
- Panel Wire Hook is a specialized product that is designed to sink into the fabric of a cubicle wall and has a hook which allows you to hang a framed picture, sign, or poster.
- Panel Wall Clip is another specialized cubicle item which also sinks into the fabric walls but instead of a hook it has a clip which is spring-activated that allows you to clip paperwork, postcards, or non-framed pictures in a cubicle. These cubicle wall clips are extremely versatile and you should always have a few in your desk drawer.
- Cubicle Wall Hooks are similar to the panel wire hook and the panel wall clip but has a hook from which you can hang items like a framed picture, poster, or sign. Cubicle hooks for pictures is another application that could be utilized. These hooks for cubicle walls or cubicle pin hooks should always be in your cubicle toolbox. A cubicle hook will essentially allow you to hang anything that isn’t too heavy from your cubicle wall.
- Mounting Square is a product which has an adhesive on one side and a Velcro-like surface on the other which allows you to hang items from a fabric cubicle wall.
- Adjustable Board Hanger is designed to hang over a cubicle wall and are made for hanging heavy items from a cubicle wall. They are must-have cubicle wall hangers.
How do you hang a whiteboard on a cubicle wall?
The question to ask here is, “How heavy is the whiteboard?” I have had a whiteboard in my own cubicle at work that actually came with stainless steel needles on the back which allowed me to sink the needles into my cubicle wall which stabilized the whiteboard without having to use any specialized cubicle-hanging product. In this case, the whiteboard or dry erase board was very light, maybe around 2 1/2 lbs.
With a heavier whiteboard I would opt for using adjustable board hangers. They allow you to adjust them to exactly match the width of your cubicle walls so they are secure on the wall with no play at all. They tend to have metal hooks that extend down the cubicle wall that you can use for hanging a heavier whiteboard, a heavier poster, or literally anything else you’d like to hang.
