Are you looking to make a drastic change to your poorly-lit office or cubicle? This article will present you with office lighting solutions that you can immediately implement into your workspace that will make a huge difference.
Office lighting, in my estimation, means everything when it comes to productivity in the workplace. Light psychology helps us understand how we respond to light in general. As I wrote in this article, one of the most underrated aspects of any office, small or large, is office lighting.
5 Office Lighting Solutions and Office Lighting Ideas
Small office lighting ideas are extremely important to me as I work in an office cubicle. But, in any office, whether it have walls with a door, fabric panels like a cubicle, or an open office environment lighting is of extreme importance.
And now that we’ve been allotted more freedom to work from home, home office lighting ideas have become much more of a consideration to me.
I’ve gone through a number of iterations when it comes to office lighting and I think I have probably the best office desk lamp that there is on the market. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a number of really good options out there for office lighting at varying price points.
If you’re in a dark office, light solutions for windowless rooms are important for your mood and productivity. I firmly believe that.
I’m always on the lookout for office cubicle lighting ideas or cubicle lighting options because I’ve worked almost exclusively in an office cubicle for my working career. I’d like to share with you 5 different options below.
1. AFROG MultiFunctional Metal Desk Lamp
Recently I have incorporated LED metal desk lamps into my own work spaces – in my home office and in my work cubicle. The AFROG MultiFunctional Metal Desk Lamp seen above is similar to the Taotronics LED Desk Lamp I purchased but it actually has more features. I happen to think that LED bulbs yield the best office lighting available.
The one seen above allows for fast charging by simply placing your phone onto the charger which is similar to my Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charger Stand.
There is also a USB Charging Port in both the AFROG and the Taotronics versions but the AFROG also allows fast charging. The 5 lighting modes and the 7 brightness levels are really nice features which allows you to set the lighting any way you like for your working environment.
The rest of the features can be seen above and, for the money, the AFROG MultiFunctional Metal Desk Lamp is a great buy for your office, bedroom, or any room in the house. I think it’s a great option when it comes to cubicle lighting for a cubicle desk lamp because you can adjust the lighting modes and brightness levels to suit your preferences.
2. Lavish Full Spectrum Sunlight Floor Lamp
A Lavish Full Spectrum Sunlight Floor Lamp is probably a rather unique lamp that you would find in a cubicle or a small office. But, to be honest, the first time I ever saw such a floor lamp in my workplace was in the corner of a co-worker’s cubicle. He used it as a cubicle lamp and it was brilliant!
I really never considered a floor lamp even a possibility when considering lights for cubicles or cubicle lights but this worked perfectly for cubicle task lighting. It literally inspired me and changed my perspective when it comes to small office lighting ideas.
I can honestly say that this coworker and his office lit a fire under me to make my own cubicle the best I could make it. This type of floor lamp adds a certain ambience to any office. I have one in my home office and it makes a big difference in any time of the day.
3. Lavish Natural Sunlight Desk Lamp
This was the same desk lamp that I used for years in my office cubicle after I was relegated into the middle of Cubicle Nation! You can read the detailed article here. I needed to find some type of desk lamp that would somehow mimic natural sunlight since my former office was next to a bay of windows to the outside.
This desk lamp certainly did the job for me until I came across the more versatile metal LED lamps like the my own work spaces – in my home office and in my work cubicle. The AFROG MultiFunctional Metal Desk Lamp that I already wrote about above.
For the money, you really cannot go wrong with this Lavish Natural Sunlight Desk Lamp. It is one of the most reasonably-priced cubicle lighting solutions.
4. Adesso Home 8022-12 Transitional Floor Lamp
I had a desk lamp from Ikea which was very similar to this Adesso Floor Lamp. You can see it and read about it in this article. I loved it but I didn’t really think it gave off enough light in the middle of Cubicle Nation.
This particular floor lamp appears to be made of a similar paper-like fabric which is what I found the one I had intriguing. It almost has an exotic, island-type look to it which is what was intriguing to me.
5. SMY Blue Light Light Therapy Lamp
You might’ve thought I was going to show you another desk lamp or floor lamp. Well, you’re wrong! I decided to add the SMY Blue Light Light Therapy Lamp to the list. You see, I’ve been using an energy light like this one for years.
I use an energy light at varying intervals while in my cubicle for light therapy. I feel it has helped me as I am one who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder and have found that light therapy helps not only when it comes to my energy but also with mood.
Please understand that this is not a light that you use constantly in your office. You use it for about an hour or so a day for light therapy. So please don’t consider it a cubicle light or office desk lamp similar to the ones discussed earlier in this article.
