A Car Cell Phone Holder will add Phone Security to your Office Commute

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S4 just a little over a year ago and it was my first foray into the world of smartphones. I was getting by with a work-supplied flip phone for years because it was no charge to me and I really didn’t see a need to buy a smartphone. Boy, did I learn quickly how important and convenient it is to own a smartphone.

Now, after a year, I don’t know what I would do without it. So, after using it for a while I had been on the lookout for a car cell phone holder. I have a really long office commute and I like to listen to podcasts especially when I am out of range of the stations that I typically listen to. One of my readers purchased this Satechi Universal Cell Phone Holder and so after reading some of the 950 essentially glowing reviews I decided to take the plunge and shell out the paltry $16.99 for this CD slot mount cell phone holder. (Don’t miss my YouTube video below that shows how easy it is to use).

First of all, I didn’t even know that a CD slot-mounted cell phone holder even existed. I have seen those smartphone holders where there is suction cup-like rubber circle that attaches to your windshield but, from what I have heard, they fall off. The last thing I want is for me to be using my phone for GPS and the phone falls onto the floor of my car while I’m getting directions. It is not only a pain but it is also unsafe to be searching for your cell phone at your feet while driving at the same time.

I don’t know about you but I hardly ever use my CD player in my car anymore. I have an iPod as well as my cell phone for music or whatever I want to listen to. I do use the AM/FM radio because I love sports talk radio but the CD player not so much. This cell phone holder simply inserts into the cd slot and you push down on a button to secure it. If you want to remove it to use the CD player you can do so easily but, to be honest, I haven’t removed it yet since I inserted it into my CD slot of my 2009 Honda Civic.

I can easily secure my Samsung Galaxy S4 into the cell phone holder and this is one of the largest smartphones on the market. My coworker after seeing how easily it is to use, bought one for his Sony XPeira Z3 which is one of the smallest smartphones that I have seen. In fact, the YouTube video shown here is of my coworker securing his Sony XPeira Z3 into my Satechi Universal Smartphone CD Slot Mount. He drives a much larger car than I do, a Jeep Cherokee SUV, but he also hardly ever uses his CD player so it was a great solution for his commute.

He loved the fact that he could place his cell phone in the cradle using one hand so he could actually do it while driving if necessary. I just place it in the cradle when I get into my car. Just be aware that my Samsung Galaxy S4 also fits perfectly into the cradle and I’m also able to easily plug in my car cell phone charger while it’s in the cradle. My daughter has an iPhone 5 and it also fits perfectly into the cradle because I tested it when she was home recently. So, I can safely say that it is essentially a universal smartphone cell phone holder which will work with any cell phone.
